Two such corporations include Ford and Kraft, who teamed up with Feeding America, the United States’ leading non-profit organization for hunger relief, in order to provide over two million meals for families in need. These partnerships started over the summer (which is a good reminder that this issue deserves our attention year-round – not just in September).
Regular readers of this blog know that many issues involving corporations aren’t all black or white. Ford, a company who has the worst fuel efficiency among their line of cars, is by no means a model company. You can read more about its areas for improvement, especially its impact on the environment, here. Kraft isn’t perfect either – for example, its coffee brands are not fair trade and the company has unlabeled genetically modified organisms in their products. You can read more about human rights issues involving Kraft here.
